Jim and Debora first came to Kenya, East Africa in 1995. Jim is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Cleveland TN. They are Directors and visionaries of the Kibera Kids Center located in Nairobi, Kenya. The couple have worked together as a team in all four corners of Kenya for the past 13 years. The Wombles endured many hardships during the eight years traveling and living among the native people of remote villages and even in the desert regions. Through this they honed many skills and developed the great courage they would eventually need caring for destitute kids, building construction and African cultural relations. Jim enjoyed picking up the different languages of those they lived and worked among, providing a great relationship among those who had not been exposed to English. Debora spent a lot of her time feeding kids and spending quality time with the village women. During these years, they built over thirty church related buildings, three children’s ministry centers and 3 feeding centers. When KKC opened in 2004 they focused all of their energy to those kids who had lost their parents to the AIDS pandemic in the largest slum in Africa, Kibera. January 2008 begins the fourth year of Kibera Kids Center.
