    VBS 2008 - June 23-27, 2008

Thanks to everyone who helped out in VBS. There was a lot of prayers and work put into another great experience. There were a lot of songs that were sung to a familiar tune (Oklahoma, The Long Ranger, Happy Trails, etc.)

    Average Attendance
    Students: 52
    Teachers/Helpers: 23

    Total Offering Collected: $ 540.00
To be given to the Trico Area Food Pantry

    Supper Honoring the Men

We are thankful for the men in our church family. We had a supper on June 18th to honor ALL the men in the church and not just fathers. We appreciate you and what you give to the church.

    THANK YOU!

Shawnee Crisis Pregnancy Center wanted to thank the church for their generous donation to the Crisis Center. The director was ecstatic to receive everything, but especially the diapers and wipes because she had just given the last diapers away that morning. God's perfect timing again.

Men's Project - New Church Sign

The last sign is very weather-beaten and needs to be replaced. A large jar is in the foyer for any loose change or bills you would like to drop in to help pay for this. Please help out!

Do You Like to Go to Yard Sales?

Do you like to spend time going to yard sales? If so, maybe you could use this opportunity to spread a little of God's love around to someone who needs it.
Connie works with low-income Mom's and babies who are always in need of maternity clothes and a variety of baby items.
If you are interested in knowing more about this, just ask Connie.

    Ways to Encourage One Another
A word of encouragement can make the difference between giving up or going on.
    • Drop a card in the mail
    • Cook a meal or dessert
    • Visit with them
    • Call them on the telephone
    • Offer to do their errands

PRAYER LIST - There are many needs.

    • It is our duty and privilege to speak to the Father on behalf of those who need prayer! Don't let them down. Why not call or write them and let them know you are praying for them! It would be a nice surprise.

Remember the 2008 Olympics in your prayers! August 8-24th it will be in Beijing China. There are an enormous amount of beatings, unfair imprisonments and deaths just because people are TALKING about Jesus. The persecutions are very real!! Pray for the safety of everyone involved.

    Pray for the Church Family

Remember each other in prayer as we begin a search for another Pastor to lead us. Let us remember to encourage each other and bear each other's burdens! God bless each of you!

    Military Prayer List

We need to pray for our servicemen & servicewomen. There are many families who are in need of support while their loved ones are away!
You can add or remove anyone's name as needed.

    Pat & Mike's Adopt-A-Soldier

Pat and Mike Jennings have been sending a monthly care package and a letter to a soldier who is in Iraq. His name is SSGT. Luis Torres.

He is originally from Puerto Rico. He has been in the army for 14 years and was recently stationed at Ford Hood, Texas. He is a Combat Engineer and he has a platoon of 28 men in Iraq.

He was deployed to Kuwait in '95, Bosnia in '97, and Kosovo in '99 and was in the first invasion of Iraq. This is his third time back to Iraq.

He has a wife and three children, aged 13, 7 and 18 months (2 girls and a boy). He is active in his church family and when he is able to be home he drives a church bus.

He is thankful for the church's prayers and also asks us to remember his platoon and his family back home.
