Fish Pond Donations - plans are underway for our Old Fashioned Family Fun Day and BBQ on Sunday, September 14 - but we need your help! We want to have a fishpond for the children, and would appreciate it if you could donate some items. We are looking for small, gender neutral, non-violent (no guns or weapons, please!) toys and games, or other little gifts. Suggestions are: gum (sugar-free would be preferable), balls, notepads, etc. Thank you for your support.

Used Clothing Sale: We are planning a Used Clothing Sale for September 6 and are asking everyone to drop off his or her good used clothes and footwear. We ask that all clothes be clean and in good condition. Items can be dropped off from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday to Friday at the church. Thank you for your support!!

Can Project: Once again this year we will be doing our “Can” Project to help with our expenses over the summer months. Board Members and the Youth Group are asked to meet in the church basement on Sunday, June 8 at 7:00 pm to get the cans ready for distribution. Thank you for your help - “together we “can”.

Are you on PAR? - No, we’re not talking about your golf game; we’re talking about Pre-Authorized Remittance (aka - "direct deposit"). With PAR, you allow First United Church to deduct whatever amount you set from your bank account each month. It means the work and programming of the church can continue to thrive, even if you’re unable to attend every Sunday (although we’d love to see you here!). It’s a great way to support your church, and the ministry that happens here at First United. It’s also great for the environment!! No more hassle with envelopes!! Forms for PAR are available in the church vestibule. Just fill it out and either place it in the collection plate or drop it into the church office.

Scent Free: A reminder to our congregation: There are members of our church, children and adults, who have severe medical reactions to strong scents (perfume, aftershave, hairspray). We are also trying to become a Nut-Free environment. Please keep our church scent free and nut free so we all can learn and worship. “When you can’t breathe, nothing else matters”

Grocery Tapes: Please continue to support the United Church Women by collecting Dominion & Sobeys grocery tapes, and by placing them in the box provided in the vestibule. Also, please remind your family and friends to save theirs for you.

Collecting Old Calendars & Cards - We are collecting old calendars & cards for children at the Janeway Hospital so they can do crafts and activities during their stay at the hospital. There will be a box in the church vestibule to collect your calendars. Thanks for your help!

Baptisms - normally take place the last Sunday of each month. All requests for baptism have to be in to the church office by the fifteenth of each month.

DONATE SUNDAY BULLETIN
 Members of our congregation frequently sponsor Sunday bulletins to celebrate some special event in the life of family or friends. A sign-up sheet for that purpose is located on the bulletin board in the church vestibule. Or phone the church office at 368-2194. Or email the church office. (firstunited@nf.aibn.com)  The cost to sponsor a Sunday service bulletin is $25.00
