OUR NEW PASTOR

The Rev.
James C. Doyle grew up near Buffalo, New York. He graduated from
the State University of New York at Binghamton with a B.S. in
Management Science, and went on to earn a MBA in Finance from the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He worked for the Marathon
Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio from 1978 to 1992.
Pastor Doyle (or Pastor Jim - he'll answer to either) felt the call to
ordained ministry and attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus,
Ohio from 1992 to 1996, earning a Master of Divinity degree. He
has been the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Castleton, New York
since 1996.
Pastor Jim met his wife Ieva while they were both students at SUNY
Binghamton. Ieva grew up on Long Island, and is a manager of
communications. They have a daughter, Krista, who attends college
in Florida. Another member of the family is "Beanie," a
chocolate-lab mix, which explains why they will be looking for a house
with a fenced-in back yard.
Pastor Doyle enjoys interacting with people of all age groups. He
has a special interest in developing some new ways to encourage
involvement in the church - especially in worship - by people in the
young-adult age group. He is also interested in finding ways for
the church to reach out and respond to needs in our community.
During his free time, Pastor Jim enjoys riding his motorcycle, playing
volleyball, golf, skiing, spectator sports (especially the Bills and
hockey), and movies and dinner out with Ieva. The Doyles have
traveled to Europe and hope to go to the Middle East in the
future. They also make occasional trips to Florida to visit
Krista, and to Buffalo to visit family.
