t Andrew's Church has been a focal point of Old Headington for more than a
thousand years. Made of local stone and slate it is beautiful but expensive
to maintain. In 1991 the Friends of St Andrew's Church was founded in order
to raise money for an endowment fund to augment the regular contributions
from the parish allocated by the church for the upkeep of the church fabric.
Monies from The Friends are NOT used for 'religious' purposes; they are
designated for maintenance only. The Friends are made up of members of the
church and others who live in the area and far beyond and who appreciate
the church building and are willing to contribute towards its maintenance.
