Dear brothers, sisters and friends, loneliness is an issue that a lot of us, including students, are dealing with. You probably can easily think of a time when you felt lonely. Loneliness is something that all of us will deal with at some point of our lives. It's not a case of if, but when. However, Jesus knows our heart and will be with you during those times. We will examine the issue of loneliness and what we can do to combat loneliness in our lives.
Please read Psalm 23:1; 25: 16-18; Deuteronomy 31: 8
Hope to see you this Sunday at 10am to worship God. You brother and friend, Henri
I know we are not in November and celebrating "thanksgiving" and why are we talking about being thankful. Well, that is just the point.
Thanksfulness is a lost art today. Just as parents long to hear the words "thank you" from their children, so our heavenly Father loves to hear thankfulness from our mouths and hearts. This session focuses on developing a "habitually" (remember the over and over used word from last Sunday session) thankful attitude toward God and His blessings for us.
Key verse is I Thessalonians 5: 18 "Give thanks in all circumstances, for it is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Remember Thankfulness is an attitude of gratitude for all that God has given to us unconditionally.
Hope to see you this Sunday at church at 10am to worship Him. Your brother and friend, Henri
After four weeks watching the DVD series entitled "The Cross, Christ in Jesus", we are back to our regular Bible Application session this Sunday, Feb 8. The key verse which we will study is in Proverb 4:23: "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." The focus idea will be what we put into our mind radically affects what comes out in the way we live our life. Our minds are battle zones where Satan tries to gain control by sending missiles of negative thoughts and information to distract and destroy us. The things we allow into our minds affect everything we do. The battle is raging and this message will help us equip for battles we face every day.
If you have extra minutes to spare, please read the following Bible verses before Sunday: Matthew 12:34; Romans 12: 1,2; Philippians 4: 8. I hope you can join us this Sunday to worship Him. Please try to come promptly to church at 10am. Your brother and friend, Henri
God's Word is like a love letter to each of us. It's a letter from the heart of the Father to your heart. It's a letter telling you how much He loves you, what He thinks about you, what He dreams about you and what He desires for you. Yet, if we never open it up or ready it, we miss out on the blessing and the growth that come from being in the Word. Along with that comes the application of the Word. Within the pages of the Bible lies the power to transform lives, but it needs to be applied before the change is experienced. Please read James 1: 22 before this Sunday and join us to learn about the power of applying God's Word in our lives. p.s. I am praying for all of you who are taking exams this week and/or finishing term project. Please manage your time wisely so you can still join us on Sunday.
The topic for this week (Nov 16) Sunday school will focus on stewardship, giving, and materialism. We live in a materialistic world. We seem to judge people's worth and value by the possessions they have. Yet God has a different plan. Everything we have is a gift from Him. Therefore, He calls us to be good stewards of what He has given to us. Please read I Timothy 6: 9-10 before Sunday. I pray that you can join me to reflect about the idea of giving. Hope to see everyone for the Sunday worship at 10am.
Dear brothers, sisters and friends: The topic for our English Sunday school class for the two Sundays will be "Faith". Being a Christian means living your life by faith, and in God's Word there is no better example of what faith is all about than Abraham in the book of Genesis. In the next two weeks, we'll be looking at who is Abraham and what made Abraham tick. Abraham is known as a great man of faith, but what does faith look like? How can we have that same life-changing faith? Please arrange your time to join us at the front portion of the sanctuary after the Sunday service and pray that God will lead us to understand His word. God Bless, Your brother and friends Henri Psalm 55: 22
Lost people matter to God, and they should matter to us as Christian. We will examine God's heart for the lost and how we can reach out to those who are lost. Sharing Jesus flows from being heartbroken over thelost and understanding our own emptiness without Jesus. Bible verse is Matthew 9: 37, 38.
